Olivia took her first trip on a plane over
6000 miles to the beautiful islands of Hawaii. She went with
her family – Mom, Dad, Grandma & Grandpa Coke, Auntie
Jennifer and Uncle Paul and her little cousins Camille and
Spencer. She had a wonderful time soaking up the sun and relaxing
by the ocean in her little inflatable crab.
During the first week of the trip, she sailed
the Pacific Ocean on a big cruise liner called “The
Pride of Hawaii”. This ship sailed around the different
islands where she was able to explore with her very adventurous
parents. She saw lots of mountains, volcanoes and travelled
through different lands such as luscious rainforests, dry
lands and lava fields. Olivia and her parents rented cars
to travel around the islands of Maui, Oahu, Hawaii and Kauai
and places on the big island of Hawaii like Hilo and Kona.
In Maui she saw lots of sandy beaches went
into caves and visited a winery. Mom and Dad tasted pineapple
wine but didn’t give her any. She also went to a luau
where she watched Hula dancers and fire breathers.
In Kona, she visited a coffee plantation
and drove to some more sandy beaches. Mom and Dad spent some
time away while Grandma and Grandpa babysat. Mom and Dad went
on a waterfall hike where they hiked the valley to see 5 beautiful
waterfalls.
In Kauai, Olivia visited a gorgeous canyon
high up in the mountains. She also sat on the beach and lounged
around watching the surfers.
In Oahu, Olivia stayed for another week
at a beautiful house on the beach. Many people said it looked
like paradise. There, she swam with the sea turtles, and one
day went and visited the Dole Plantation where she had her
first pineapple whip ice cream. She thought it was yummy.
Olivia also had her first taste of ocean
water, and sand too. She wasn’t so fond of those.
Olivia wants to thank her Grandma
and Grandpa for a wonderful time and wants to especially thank
her “Grandma Grandma” and Grandpa Grandpa whom
are in heaven, for giving this very special gift of spending
time with the family and creating memories that she will always
remember.
